Great Buy Today - Fresh Strawberries

I have been watching with horror as I saw the prices for fresh strawberries hovering around Euro 18 for box of 5 kg.

This was an unacceptable price.

I thought I would have to forgo any thought of enjoying fresh strawberries this year - and that would mean not eating strawberries at all, as I detest frozen strawberries.

Lo and behold, when I was on my Best Buy round this morning, I saw strawberries at Euro 9.95 for a 5 kg box, which was a more realistic price.

The strawberries were from as place called Pyhäsalmi. Although they were not very sweet, they were just ideal for eating aa strawberries and ice cream.

I had my fill of strawberries today.

This Best Buy was at the Säästökauppa at Kaijonharju.

Try them tomorrow as they may still have supplies coming in at this price.

If the local crop is good, we may have prices drop to Euro 7.95 per 5 kg, but this price of Euro 2 per kg is good to have your taste of some fresh strawberries this year!
